Pennotec was very pleased to be invited to present a case study at the BEACON Progress through Partnership launch event in Cardiff 7th March 2014. The BEACON case studies booklet, which is now available on-line at http://beaconwales.org/en/case-studies/ provides an insight into the breadth of research and development activities and capabilities at the BEACON facilities in Wales.

The Pennotec case study describes how BEACON scientists at the BioComposites Centre, Bangor University and the Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences, Aberystwyth University were able to support Pennotec in exploring the possibility of utilizing the products of grass sugar biorefining as a means of removing specific, commercially important, compounds from waste shell material.
